Cooperative Efforts

The Traffic Section is responsible for the analysis of traffic congestion, delays and collision records throughout the City. Staff works closely with adjoining communities, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), and the San Bernardino Association of Governments (SanBAG) to ensure consistency and uniformity with regional transportation programs. For example, the City closely harmonizes its signal designs and study guidelines with those of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Those guidelines include supporting information from all regions of the State, to ensure uniformity. Many of the projects undertaken by the Traffic Section are funded through or by Caltrans.
