JWin Electronics Corporation recently purchased a 62,731-square-foot industrial building on Jersey Blvd. from Panattoni Development Co. for about $7.32 million or $116.75 per square foot. JWin is a leading consumer electronics company, bringing uniquely styled brand name quality products to consumers worldwide.
Toy Story
Macy's, has signed an exclusive agreement with the 146-year-old toy company, FAO Schwarz to open FAO-operated toy stores in up to 275 Macy's stores in fall 2008. FAO Schwarz stores are planned to expand into a total of approximately 685 Macy's stores over the next two years. Under the agreement, FAO Schwarz has named Macy's the exclusive U.S. retail store host of FAO Schwarz, and FAO Schwarz will be the exclusive toy department in Macy's stores. Look for a new FAO Schwarz toy department to open in Macy's at Victoria Gardens later this year.
Color My World
In a bid to brighten the traditionally gray PC and laptop accessories market, Rancho Cucamonga-based LapWorks™ Inc. has launched the first eight in its new line of colorful printed Laptop Desk Futura™ laptop coolers. LapWorks plans to expand the program with a variety of colors and patterns, polling its customers and offering one or more new options every month throughout 2008. The colorful Laptop Desk Futuras are available from LapWorks for $49.95, initially in four solids and four patterns.
Growth Spurt
Emrise Corporation, headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, will acquire electronics parts and services provider Advanced Control Components, Inc. for up to $18 million in cash. Emrise and its subsidiaries make electronic devices and communications equipment for the aerospace, defense, industrial and communications industries.
Clean Living
Basin Water, Inc. in Rancho Cucamonga has been awarded a contract to clean up uranium and nitrates from an out-of-service East Valley Water District well. The agreement calls for Basin Water to install and start up the treatment system and train water district staff. Installation work is expected to begin in June. Eventually, the well will provide drinking water to 65,000 customers.
Lessons In Finance
Poland's largest credit union, Stefczyk, joined Polish credit union officials and the Polish national media to observe how credit unions operate in the United States when they recently visited Rancho Cucamonga-based California Credit Union League.
Accent On Expansion
Rancho Cucamonga-based Accent Computer Solutions, a leading IT service provider specializing in Proactive IT Services for the Small to Medium Sized Business (SMB), announced today that it has acquired TECHON. TECHON is a full service IT service provider in Rancho Cucamonga. The acquisition will help Accent gain valuable customer opportunities and technical resources that compliment its current operation.
Movers and Shakers
Basin Water Inc. has announced the appointment of Susan Hegarty Snow to its board of directors. Snow's term with the publicly traded company expires in 2010. She also was appointed to the Rancho Cucamonga-based company's audit committee and nominating and governance committee.
New King Of The Castle
Julio Cardenas now owns one of the largest real-estate brokerages in the Rancho Cucamonga area — Century 21 King — with 153 licensed sales professionals. Cardenas, a real estate agent and manager for more than 20 years, and Cathy Sandez bring a quarter century of management experience to the table.
Who's New at Victoria Gardens
Teens and young adults are among those who will enjoy two new clothing stores that recently opened at VG.
Aeropostale is a specialty retailer of casual apparel and accessories, principally serving 14 to 17 year-old young women and men. Aeropostale provides its customers with a focused selection of high-quality, active-oriented fashion and fashion basic merchandise at compelling values. The new store is located on South Mainstreet adjacent to Verizon Wireless.
Metropark, located on Kew Avenue, offers a mixture of fashion, music, and art for today's trendsetting young adults. Part club and part street boutique, Metropark is fast becoming famous for their carefully edited multi-brand fashion assortment and dynamic atmosphere.
Joe Knows Seafood
Joe's Crab Shack has launched its new menu and beverage selections at its 117 restaurants across the US. The new menu items include: crab nachos, craveable crab cake, seafood fun-do, mussels marinara, 12-ounce ribeye, steampot for two, spicy boil flavor, east coast platter and bayou's best platter. The new beverage items include: shark bite, rockin' poppin' pomegranate margarita, mojito's madness and tie dye swirl. Joe's Crab Shack in Rancho Cucamonga is located in the Foothill Crossing Center, just south of Victoria Gardens.
