Fire Protection District - Fire Chief
Mike Bell was promoted to Fire Chief on September 13, 2009. Chief Bell began his fire service career as a paid on-call firefighter with the Town of Apple Valley before working as a full-time firefighter with the City of Banning. He joined the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District 24 years ago as a firefighter when it was still called the Foothill Fire District. He has promoted through the ranks of Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief/Fire Marshal, and most recently served as Deputy Chief responsible for Operations.
Chief Bell brings practical vision to the organization and values the team environment. He is challenged with foreseeing budget issues and managing finite resources while meeting or exceeding demands for service. Chief Bell seeks new, innovative ways to provide services and maintain a constant state of readiness in order to operate effectively and safely.
