Fire Protection District - Objectives, Activities & Projects

The Fire District continuously implements and plans for activities and programs that will assist us in striving to achieve the following objectives:

  • Reduce the loss of life and property and injuries incurred through fire by offering and supporting comprehensive fire prevention, public education and emergency response programs.

  • Coordinate, plan and manage a comprehensive capital improvement program for the expansion and improvement of fire and life safety services in response to the needs of a growing community. Programs such as this will include but not be limited to maintaining an effective and efficient delivery of fire control, fire prevention, emergency medical and rescue services.

  • Continue to improve the professional standards and physical readiness of fire department personnel through the modern application of training techniques, professional development and fitness programs.

  • Coordinate hazardous material and disaster preparedness planning and appropriate response efforts with other City departments, as well as local, county, and state agencies for improved public and private sector readiness to mitigate local impacts resulting from natural or man-made emergencies.

  • Develop programs which further cooperative relationships with the community's business sector regarding fire prevention and code enforcement programs.

  • Develop and implement programs which improve the level of care through emergency medical services/advanced life support.
