The Detective Division of the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department is tasked with the follow-up or supplemental investigation of felony and serious misdemeanor crimes which occur within the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Homicides, arson, explosives, and extensive child abuse cases are handled in conjunction with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigation Division.

After initial handling by patrol officers, crimes that require further investigation are forwarded to the Detective Division for investigation. Those cases that require prosecution are then forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

Although each of the detectives brings with him or her years of experience and knowledge which encompasses all areas of law enforcement, each has an area of expertise they specialize in.
