The City of Rancho Cucamonga Theatre Arts Academy Instructors are professionals with educational and/or performing arts background and are carefully screened to ensure a safe environment. All Rancho Cucamonga Theatre Arts Academy courses offer a balance of fun and recreation with skill building and top notch training.  | Jeremy Bernard has had the privilege of teaching performing arts classes with his wife Jessica for five years now. In addition to teaching, Jeremy is also a working musical theatre actor having performed regionally in THE PRODUCER'S (lead/tenor/ Musical Theater West), LES MISERABLES (Enjolras/ Moonlight Stage Prod.), GUYS AND DOLLS (Sky Masterson/ Candlelight Pavillion), MY FAIR LADY (Freddy Eynsford Hill/ Candlelight Pavillion), PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Frederic/ California Theater), THE MUSIC MAN (Quartet Tenor/ The Pechanga Resort), SHOWGIRL OF 52ND STREET (Colony Theater). Jeremy holds a B.A. in Theatre from Azusa Pacific University. |  | Jessica Bernard has been teaching for the RC Theatre Arts Academy for five years. She co-teaches with husband Jeremy Bernard. In addition to her passion for teaching, Jessica has an extensive performance resume, her credits include: CATS (Cabrillo Music Theater), GUYS AND DOLLS, (Sarah Brown/ Performance Riverside & Candlelight Pavillion), MY FAIR LADY (Eliza/ Candlelight Pavillion), THE MUSIC MAN (Marian Paroo/ California Theatre), PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Edith/ California & Pechanga Theaters), OKLAHOMA (Laurey/ Marmac Repertory), SHOWGIRL OF 52ND STREET (Colony Theater), THE SECRET GARDEN (Lewis Family Playhouse), THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL (Marguerite), and HELLO DOLLY (Irene Malloy). Jessica also recently returned from singing in Hong Kong Disneyland. Jessica received her B.A. in Theatre Arts from Azusa Pacific University. |  | Julie Edwards-Matanga received both a B.M. and M.M. in Music from the University of Redlands. She is currently the director of music at Unity of Pomona, and on staff at Valley College. She has experience as a teacher of music in public schools, and works as an accompanist, composer, and she performs as a pianist, vocalist, and instrumentalist. She enjoys exploring diverse styles of music: from ancient to modern, folk, jazz, popular music, and music from around the world. |  | John Kane is an Acting, Stand Up and Motivational Speaking Coach for the High Desert Center for the Arts. John is a co founders of the performance troupe, "Darwin's "A" Team" and have created the Fourth Wall Performance Art School at the High Desert Center for the Arts. |  | Ruth Leal has been working in local television for 14 years. She is currently a freelance videographer/editor and enjoys creating local programming. Her accomplishments include winning prestigious awards such as the National Cable Television's Beacon Awars for her documentary on the Grand Prix and other fires entitled "After the Firestorm", which also won a Local Cable Television Award and a Telly Award. She has done voiceover work as well as on-camera talent hosting programs such as the Library Telethon, Founder's Day Parade and the Big Read Magazine Show. Ruth is a resident of Rancho Cucamonga and enjoys working with the Rancho citizens and community organizations in developing media projects. |  | April Scott is co-founder of "April's Fools" and "High Desert Rats" Improv Troupes. She directs, performs and teaches improv workshops and classes in the South Bay Area and High Desert. She has Performed the Los Angeles circuit including the Comedy Store in Hollywood. April has studied with the Groundlinds and Philippe Durand. |  | Kevin Slay is a freelance professional director and adjunct theatre professor who has worked all over the Inland Empire and Orange County with credits including PIRATES OF PENZANCE, OKLAHOMA, THE MUSIC MAN, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, for which he won an Inland Valley Theatre League award for Best Direction. Other recent directorial credits also include ROSECRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD, SOME GIRLS, NIGHT OF THE IGUANA, RUMORS, THE MAN OF LAMANCHA, THE CRUCIBLE, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and AS YOU LIKE IT, which was one of six producitons selected to perform for the American College Theatre Festival's event. Kevin was selected as a national winner in Theatre Direction from the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Kevin holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Direction from California State University, Fullerton. |  | |  | Lissa Supler is a freelance director and a teacher. She received her B.A. in Theatre- Directing emphasis from California State University, Fullerton. She has had the pleasure of directing and performing throughout Southern California. She comed to the RC Theatre Arts Academy directly from a year-long tour of the United States with Missoula Children's Theatre Company. | |
