Building Plan Check & Permit The Building Plan Check & Permit section is responsible for reviewing project plans for compliance of the California Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical as well as Energy, Disabled Access codes, and the City mandated ordinances. This section also provides over the counter services which include:
- Receives all plan submittals to the Building Department
- Calculates applicable fees
- Conducts preliminary plan check reviews
- Issues permits
- Provides technical support
The Building Inspection section is responsible for providing inspections from ground breaking to completion of the project. Building Inspectors inspect the project during the construction phase, and verify compliance with the approved plans and permitted designs. In addition, inspectors respond to citizen concerns regarding illegal construction and substandard living conditions as outlined in the Uniform Housing Code.
